Buddy Bundle - Brave and Able Buddy Bundle

Our Brave and Able Buddy Bundle contains one Brave and one Able - the best of friends, helping to support each other to make brave decisions and give hard things a go!

Help children learn how to work through their big emotions and tackle their anxieties with calm breathing skills.

HOW IT WORKS:

Let your own breathing follow the guided light in Brave and Able's stomach. As the light grows bigger, breathe in and pause. As the light shrinks smaller, breathe out and pause. Repeat as many times as you can.

With practice, following your Brave and Able Breathing Buddy as your visual guide, you will learn to do this more and more easily, helping to interrupt the nervous system when big feelings take over, reset, and feel able to more clearly see through the challenge or emotion you’re facing.

Developed with input from children’s psychologists and educators, science has proven calm breathing acts as a reset for our nervous system.

GUIDED LIGHT

With a simple press-to-operate function, a timed light sequence shines from Brave and Able's tummies to help children follow a slower breathing pace, to calm their nervous system and slow their feelings of overwhelm. The light guide has an automatic five-minute shut-off function.

SENSORY DELIGHT

Made of beautifully soft fabrics in a variety of shapes and textures, these trusted companions have many sensory elements for kids to hold to help them regain focus while they practise slowing their breathing and work through their big feelings. They are also great snugglers and suitable for bedtimes.

CALM BREATHING SKILLS

Learn slow, deep breathing skills without the need for an app or a smartphone. Guided light teaches kids how to calmly take control of their breathing and regain focus. With a clearer mind you can more easily work through your big feelings and challenges. These skills can be carried within them for a lifetime, into the tricky teenage years and beyond!

ROUTINE BUILDER

Encourage regular quiet play, brain breaks and time in. Build mindful breathing time into morning or evening routines, or while kids are calm, so that these skills can be recalled in tricky situations when they need them most. Brave and Able are a tangible tool for parents and caregivers to engage children in conversations about big, confusing feelings, and provide a demonstration for how to work through them.

TAKE US ANYWHERE

Fully portable and with no need for wifi, children can practise with their Breathing Buddies wherever their adventures take them, requiring only 2 x AAA batteries for operation (not included).

BACKED BY SCIENCE

Did you know that calm breathing is a key tool to help ground your child, help performance, help anxiety, help connection and help resilience? Scientific studies have shown that slow, deep breathing has the ability to reduce anxiety, increase confidence and memory, and even grow new brain cells!

Thank you for this new tool

Thanks so much. They are lovely and my big girl (4.5yrs) is super attached and using the breathing tool to help her get to sleep and resettle if she wakes. My little one enjoys a cuddle, and we are still working on breathing technique for calming.
Also thank you for a new tool. As a mother of a neuro-typical and a neuro-diverse child it was lovely to find a tool that supports them both in such a gentle way.

Truly genius!

These breathing buddies are truly genius! As an Early Childhood Educator for children with additional needs I've been able to use Brave and Able to assist children (as well as my own three children at home!) in managing their feelings and bringing their focus back to their breath. They're simple and easy to use and such beautiful quality - we all love them at work but none more than the kids!

Worrying our worries away with a Worry Box

One of the most worrying things about worries and anxiety for our kids is that it is inside them – inside their head, and not something they can easily touch or externalise. It can feel scary and make our kids feel alone, particularly when their head is full of lots of worries. Sometimes kids find it hard to say their worries out loud, or put them into words, and they worry about what might happen if they do. Worry Boxes are a great, tangible way for children and young people to externalise their worries, thoughts and anxieties and give them some control over them. Here's how to create your own worry box.
